A Cold Morning Begins

The mountain feels different in the early hours. The lifts are still quiet, the slopes untouched, and the air sharp enough to make every breath visible.

This week’s moment captures the start of a truly cold day. The kind where your gloves feel too thin, your breath hangs in the sky, and even the snow seems to crunch a little louder underfoot. The sun hasn’t yet softened the air, and for a brief time, the mountain belongs only to those who arrive first.

It’s in these moments—before the rush, before the tracks—that the beauty of winter feels strongest.A reminder that every day on the mountain begins not with speed, but with silence.
