This photo was taken mid-flight, somewhere between Japan and Australia. The sun had just begun to rise above the horizon, painting the clouds in soft golds and deep blues. A quiet moment, 30,000 feet above the earth—just before everything begins again.

This week, our blog takes off from a new location. We’ve left Niseko’s lush green summer and arrived in Australia to welcome the start of the southern winter. For many instructors, this is a familiar rhythm: trading one hemisphere’s end for another’s beginning. And each time, it feels like stepping into a new story.

Last year, the Australian snow season started late and ended early. But this year, there’s already snow for the opening weekend. The early storms have left the mountains blanketed and ready, and we’re feeling the quiet excitement that only the start of winter can bring.

The view from the plane reminds us how far we travel—not just in distance, but in mindset. A new place, a new season, and new stories waiting to unfold.

See you next week with another sensory moment—this time, from the snowy side of Australia.
