The sun rises over a freshly groomed slope, the snow still crisp, untouched—at least for a few more minutes.

School holidays have begun here in Australia, and with them, the mountain takes on a new kind of energy. Kids in bright jackets fill the lifts early, already in motion toward one clear goal: interschool races. This is their training ground, and each morning begins with sharp turns, tight focus, and the hum of edges on hardpack.

Unlike the deep powder we chase in Japan, Australian slopes tend to be firmer—especially in the mornings. It’s the kind of snow that demands precision. Every turn is a lesson in balance, timing, and trust in your edges.

The mountain is alive with motion, with the rhythm of young racers carving out their dreams one run at a time.

Winter, here, feels both playful and purposeful.

Let's get the edges!!
